Cumhurbaşkanı Ersin Tatar, 1-7 Nisan Kanser Haftası dolayısıyla Kanser Araştırma Vakfı heyetini kabul etti.
Cumhurbaşkanlığından yapılan açıklamaya göre Tatar kabulde yaptığı konuşmada, 20 yıldır kanser konusunda farkındalık yaratmak adına yürütülen Orkide Yürüyüşü etkinliğinden ve gösterilen duyarlılıktan dolayı vakfı kutladı.
Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, kanser araştırmalarının önemine işaret ederek, yaşam koşullarının ve sağlığa dikkat edilmesinin önemli olduğunu belirtti. Orkide Yürüyüşü’nün sağlığa dikkat edip spor yapmanın önemine dikkat çekmekte olduğunu dile getiren Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, kötü alışkanlıklardan uzak durmak için özellikle gençleri teşvik etmek gerektiğini söyledi.
Kanser hastalarına sahip çıkarak doğru yönlendirmelerde bulunmanın ve bilimsel gelişmeleri paylaşabilmenin önemini belirten Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar, vakfın verdiği hizmetlerin çok önemli olduğunu söyledi.
Kanser Araştırma Vakfı Başkanı Prof. Dr. Mustafa Camgöz, Kanser Araştırma Vakfı ve Süleyman Cengiz Eminoğlu Vakfı’nın iş birliğinde Dilekkaya Ormanı’nda düzenlenecek olan 20. Orkide Yürüyüşü etkinliğine Cumhurbaşkanı Tatar’ı davet ederek etkinlik ile ilgili bilgi verdi. Camgöz, kanser ile yaşamayı öğrenmenin ve kanserin dağılmasını önlemenin üzerinde durulduğuna işaret etti.
The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Ersin Tatar, met with a delegation from the Cancer Research Foundation to mark the Cancer Week that ran from the 1st to the 7th of April 2021.
The meeting was organized as part of the commemorative events for Cancer Week, which aims to create awareness about cancer, its causes and impacts, and emphasize the importance of cancer prevention, treatment, and research. During the meeting, the delegation discussed the present state of cancer research and the support required from the government to improve the fight against cancer.

President Tatar acknowledged the foundation’s role in cancer research and treatment and reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the foundation’s cause to educate the public about cancer’s dangers and the importance of prevention and diagnosis. He praised the foundation for its contribution to society and stressed the government’s responsibility to support the foundation and its efforts to combat cancer.
The delegation from the Cancer Research Foundation appreciated the President’s efforts and expressed their gratitude for current and future support. They emphasized that the partnership between the foundation and the government would help to increase public awareness of cancer and minimize its impact on society significantly.
