CHP Leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu Speaks at Istanbul Rally
Millet Alliance’s presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu greeted the crowd at the Maltepe Event Area in Istanbul with his wife Selvi Kılıçdaroğlu, promising that no child in this country would go to bed hungry, no poor family would have their electricity, water or natural gas cut if he is elected, adding that he would make Turkey like a “paradise” and everyone would live in peace. Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that he would be the president of 85 million people without marginalizing anyone, and would serve with justice, rights and law.
Kılıçdaroğlu said that nearly 800,000 young people would vote for the first time in Istanbul, and added that “You will change an authoritarian regime through democratic means. You will not only leave an important legacy for our political history, but also for the world political history. This honor is enough for you.”
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that when they fight together, every problem in Turkey can be solved: “We will not hand over the Republic of Turkey to one person, nor will anyone accept the words of one man. We will manage this country together. We will govern with reason, knowledge, accumulation, ethics and virtues. We will not discriminate against anyone. I promise this country to bring spring and peace. We will embrace everyone and not victimize anyone.”
“We will send our Syrian and Afghan brothers back to their countries within two years.”
Kılıçdaroğlu mentioned that justice is the foundation of the state and “the religion of the state is justice,” and they must defend justice everywhere. Stating that they will enlighten Turkey, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “I have no palace obsession, neither do the 6 leaders. I live like you and have a humble life like you. I am proud to live like you. We will not go to the palace. God willing, when I sit on the presidential seat with your votes, our place will be Çankaya, the humble venue of Gazi Mustafa Kemal. I promised one more thing, we will send all our Syrian brothers and Afghan brothers back to their countries within two years at the latest.”
Kılıçdaroğlu also said they will resolve the problems of citizens who have experienced apprenticeship and internship difficulties during their retirement.
“I do not eat people’s bread and I don’t let them be eaten.”
Kılıçdaroğlu stressed that they will deliver every right, every law, without taking the side of anyone, saying “There are two groups who do not want me to be president. I want you to know them. Firstly, the ‘pentad’ gangs. Don’t boo, go to the polls and vote. Booing is the easiest thing. It is difficult to go to the polls, but it is even more difficult to convince a person who voted for AK Party, MHP or one of the parties in the People’s Alliance in the previous elections, take them to the polls, and make them vote. Then every individual will have fulfilled their duty in real terms. I want you to remember this.”
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that he knew the money taken abroad and added: “I know they built skyscrapers in Manhattan, I know how they bought Muhammad Ali Clay’s ranch. I know where they deposited their money in London. I will bring them all, every penny of the 418 billion dollars, and I will give them to the people. I promised, I will say it again. I do not eat people’s bread, nor do I let them be eaten. If anyone eats people’s bread, I will take them to task.”
Kılıçdaroğlu claimed that the second group who do not want him to be president is drug lords: “I promise to eradicate the root of drug lords. We will do whatever is necessary for the benefit of this country. We will enlighten this country together. We will achieve this goal together.” During Kılıçdaroğlu’s speech, the crowd waved their flags and chanted slogans.
