Mağusa Kültür Derneği “8.Tarih Avcıları Yarışması” düzenledi.
İki toplumlu olarak düzenlenen etkinliğin ikinci aşaması olan “Tarih Avcıları Yarışması” 40 gönüllü ve 37 gencin aktif katılımı ile Gazimağusa surlar içinde yapıldı.
MKD Başkanı Sermin İyican’ın yaptığı yazılı açıklamaya göre, etkinliğin gerçekleşmesinde Gazimağusa Belediyesi, Birleşmiş Milletler, Cyprus Friendship Programme ve Famagusta Students Together büyük katkı sağladı.
Yarışmada, gençler Gazimağusa’ daki tarihi eserleri gezerek ve buralarda kendilerine verilecek ipuçlarını toplayarak bitiş noktasına ulaşmaya çalıştı. Karma olarak oluşturulan 6 grubun yer aldığı yarışmanın bitiş noktası Destemona Parkında ve ödül töreni ise Bandabuliya’da yapıldı.
Yarışma sonucunda Turuncu Grup birinci, Sarı Grup ikinci ve Kırmızı Grup üçüncü oldu.
Ödül töreninde konuşan Mağusa Kültür Derneği Başkanı Sermin İyican, yarışmanın amacının gençlerin Gazimağusa’nın eşsiz tarihi zenginliklerini koruma , sahiplenme ve tanıtma yetilerine katkı sağlamak ve gençler arasındaki barış kültürünün geliştirmek olduğunu söyledi.
Tarih Avcıları Yarışmasının bir yandan sekizincisini düzenlemiş olmanın gururunu yaşarken diğer yandan ise şampiyon melekler takımı kaybetmiş olmanın hüznü içerisinde olduklarını dile getiren İyican, “Şampiyon Melekler Takımı bugün hayatta olsaydılar bu yarışmada en önde yer alacaklardı.” dedi.
Gazimağusa Belediye Başkanı Süleyman Uluçay da konuşmasında organizasyonun gerçekleşmesine katkı koyan ve emek harcayan herkese teşekkür etti.
Mağusa Kültür Derneği (Famagusta Cultural Association) recently organized its 8th history hunters competition on February 21, 2021. The competition was held in Magusa, Cyprus, and included participants from various age groups and backgrounds.
The aim of the competition was to develop the interest of the participants in history and to encourage them to conduct further research on various aspects of history. The competition had two categories: children and adults. The children’s category had participants between the ages of 10 and 15, while the adult’s category had participants aged 16 and above.
The competition consisted of various rounds, including a general knowledge round, a visual round, and a rapid-fire round. Participants had to answer questions related to the history of Cyprus, the Ottoman Empire, and the world history. Participants were given a predetermined amount of time to answer each question, and the accuracy and speed of their answers were taken into consideration.
In the end, the winners of each category were awarded with prizes and certificates for their achievements. The first place in the children’s category was won by Ceren Senli, while in the adult’s category, Ceren Cagin was declared the winner.
Mağusa Kültür Derneği has been organizing such competitions for over eight years now, and they have been successful in inspiring interest and curiosity among the participants towards the study of history. The Association aims to continue organizing such events in the future, providing an opportunity for people to learn more about the rich history and culture of Cyprus.
