Romanya ilk parti Müşterek Hafif Taktik Araçları (JLTV) teslim aldığını duyurdu.
Romanya Savunma Bakanlığı, ülkenin ilk parti Müşterek Hafif Taktik Araçları (JLTV) teslim aldığını duyurdu. Teslim alınan 33 adet araç Romanya Özel Kuvvetleri (SOF) için tasarlanmıştır. Bu teslimat, aynı gün ABD’nin Romanya’ya toplam 2.53 milyar dolar maliyetle 54 adet M1A2 Abrams SEPv3 tankı temin ettiği bir başka Yabancı Askeri Satış (FMS) onayına denk geldi.
JLTV’nin 14 Mart 2023 tarihinde onaylanan FMS’sinin tahmini değeri ise 104.0 milyon dolardır. Bu satış, yakın zamanda teslim edilen JLTV’leri değil, aynı zamanda M1278A1 Ağır Silah Taşıyıcı konfigürasyonunda ek 95 adet aracı da içermektedir. Başlangıçta 43.73 milyon dolar değerindeki orijinal FMS dosyasında yapılan değişiklik, toplamda 129 adet M1278A1 Ağır Silah Taşıyıcı Müşterek Hafif Taktik Araç’a ulaşılmasını sağlamaktadır.
Oshkosh Defense M1278A1 Ağır Silah Taşıyıcı (HGC), bu FMS paketinin kritik bir bileşenini temsil ediyor. JLTV’nin bir varyantı olarak geliştirilen M1278A1, Romanya Ordusu’na bir dizi yetenek kazandırmaktadır. ABD Savunma Bakanlığı tarafından başlatılan ve eskiyen Humvee filosunun yerini almak üzere tasarlanan JLTV programı, askeri kuvvetlere modern ve yetenekli araçlar sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır.
M1278A1, Ortak Uzaktan Kumandalı Silah Sistemi (CROWS) platformu üzerinde .50 kalibrelik M2 makineli tüfek veya 40 mm Mk 19 otomatik bombaatar barındıran tam entegre bir silah sistemi ile donatılmıştır. Bir sürücü ve bir nişancıdan oluşan iki kişilik mürettebatıyla araç 1.000 mermiye kadar mühimmat taşıyabilmektedir. Brüt Araç Ağırlık Sınıfı (GVWR) 22.300 pound olan tasarımı, 350 beygir gücü ve 660 lb-ft tork sağlayan 6.6L V8 turboşarjlı dizel motorla güçlendirilmiştir.
