Universal Pictures, bugün vizyona giren “Renfield”dan sonra, yakın zamanda yeni bir Dracula filmiyle geliyor. “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” (Demeter’in Son Yolculuğu), Bram Stoker’ın Dracula romanındaki “Kaptanın Seyir Defteri” bölümünün hikayesini genişleterek beyaz perdeye taşıyor.
Demeter, Kont Dracula’nın Karpatya’dan İngiltere’ye seyahat ettiği Rus ticari gemisinin adıdır. Gemidekiler, taşıdıkları ahşap kasaların içinde ne olduğunu bilmezler ve yolculuk boyunca birer birer ortadan kaybolan mürettebat, geride kalanlara dehşeti yaşatır. “The Last Voyage of the Demeter”in ilk fragman bu dehşeti somutlaştırma konusuna oldukça başarılı bir film vadediyor.
Filmin yönetmen koltuğunda, başarılı Norveçli yöneten Andre Ovredal (Trollhunter, The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) oturuyor. Ayrıca “Zodiac” ve “Black Swan” filmlerinin yapımcıları da projenin yapımcılığını üstleniyorlar. Senaryoda ise Zak Olkewicz (Fear Street) imzası var.
